Furries in the Kitchen zine is a charity cookbook zine where all the recipes will have a piece of visual art alongside them. Some will even have fun stories featuring the recipes. The charity that is benefiting is Securing Safe Food, a charity that helps food banks meet the needs of people with food allergies or other dietary restrictions. Snow Lupinwood's husband, and Junior’s partner, Tink Fairfeather, was diagnosed with kidney failure back in 2020 and normal cheap food options have not been available because they mostly use ingredients that are not renal friendly. Food is super important to the polycule, and so the idea for the zine was born, with hope of finding a charity that helped people with medical food restrictions access safe food.We’re looking for recipes, artists, and writers, who want to feature their own stuff or create for other people's recipes. The goal is to have a final product to launch in March of 2025. All positions are volunteer, but all credits will be included in the zine and you can post your work after a blackout period.IMPORTANT DATES:
Recipes due - October 18th
Artists/Writers First Check-In: November 22nd
Artists/Writers Midway Check-In:
January 10th
Artists/Writers Final due: February 28th
Final Visual Assets: March 7th
Zine Finalized: March 28th (End of zine production)
